How To Apply
Now that you have a better understanding of reverse mortgages, you may be ready to take the next step. Steve Eastman, Reverse Mortgage Consultant, makes it easy – he is here to answer any questions throughout the reverse mortgage process.
1. Call Steve at 1-800-416-4748. This is an important and easy first step, with no pressure or obligation. It’s an opportunity to get answers to your questions and to find out if a reverse mortgage is truly right for you.
2. Obtain independent reverse mortgage counseling.
This service is required by the government to make sure you’ve had all your questions answered by an independent party. Counselors must be approved by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). These counselors are not employed by any lender. However, Steve can provide you with a list of approved counselors in your area.
3. Fill out an application.
You’ll need to provide your counseling certificate from Step #2. You’ll also need to have copies of key documents, such as proof of your age, Social Security number, photo ID and other financial information. Speak with Steve to learn more about the documents that are required.
4. Your home will be appraised.
This is to determine your home’s value and is standard procedure for any mortgage.
5. Complete your closing.
Final paperwork is signed and loan funds are received.
